~ Soil Health Benchmark Study ~
PASA meets Ridgemeade Ranch

We are digging hundreds of tiny holes in our pastures to collect soil samples that we send to Cornell University’s soil health lab for a comprehensive analysis. We follow a precise set of soil sampling instructions monitored by PASA to ensure soil samples are as accurately representative of our fields’ evolving status as possible.

Collaborating With PASA

PASA - the Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture and Ridgemeade Ranch are collaborating in a multi-year soil benchmark study, carefully following our adaptive grazing management and its regenerative effects on soil and water cycles here at Ridgemeade Ranch.

The study was developed and is administered by Pasa Sustainable Agriculture in collaboration with partners including the Cornell Soil Health Laboratory, farmOS, Future Harvest and the Million Acre Challenge, Maine Farmland Trust, OpenTEAM, Penn State Extension, Rodale Institute, and Stroud Water Research Center.
